7 nights of ski touring at the Burnie Glacier Chalet

January 13-20th     or     January 20-27th     2023

Location - Burnie Glacier Chalet

The Burnie Glacier Chalet  is a remote chalet at 1013m elevation in the Howson Range near Smithers, BC. Tree-line is 1400-1600m at this latitude, so we're onto glaciated terrain quickly when the conditions permit. When it's stormy there is 600m of great tree skiing right above the hut 🙂

Prerequisites

  • Strong ski/snowboard skills to manage navigating crevasses and steep trees
  • Good fitness to skin up at least 1200m/day
